Police in KwaZulu-Natal are seeking the assistance of community members in a search of Syethemba Khubone, who is also known as ‘Sinkwa’. Syethemba is on police’s wanted list in connection with multiple cases of murder which he allegedly committed in the area of Creighton.
On 24 September 2015 Syethemba allegedly shot and killed a woman at Sappi Forest. The woman, who was in her early 30s, was found with multiple gunshot wounds and was declared dead at the scene. Just after midnight on 19 August 2019, Syethemba and his accomplice went to a house at Ncakubana location and pretended to be police officers. The occupant of the house refused to open, however Syethemba broke the window and fired several shots to the 28-year-old man who was declared dead upon arrival at hospital.
Investigations positively linked Syethemba to the crimes and the Ixopo Magistrate’s Court issued three warrants of his arrests, including the one of a case of house robbery in which Syethemba and other three accomplices went to a homestead where he also impersonated police officers before robbing the victim of his firearm.
