Four Men Killed in Donnybrook Shooting

Four men were killed after two unknown male suspects entered their home, tried to rob them before opening fire on the occupants. According to police spokesperson, Sergeant Mosa Hlaki, the incident took place on 20 January 2026 around 20h00 at Maoleni village under the Donnybrook policing area. “Five black males were inside the house preparing to sleep when two unknown African males, covering their faces with masks, entered the house and demanded firearms from the victims. When the victims responded by saying they didn’t have any firearms, the suspects started to fire shots at the victims,” said Hlaki. Three of the men died on the scene while a fourth was rushed to Polela Clinic where he was later declared deceased. The fifth victim managed to run away without injury. “The reason for the shooting is unknown at this stage. Four cases of murder and one of attempted murder was registered at Donnybrook SAPS. Police urge anyone who might have information to contact Donnybrook SAPS on 080010111 or the District Commissioner Major General Xhelithole on 082 826 8958,” concluded Hlaki.
