Police in Ixopo have arrested a 39-year-old man for being in possession of a large amount of drugs after receiving a tip off.
This according to police spokesperson, Sergeant Mosa Hlaki who says the arrest was conducted by Detective Sergeant Msizi David Miya at the Railway informal settlement in Ixopo.
“According to D/Sgt Miya he received a tip off from his informer that the suspect was selling drugs at Railway informal settlement in Ixopo policing precinct. On his arrival at the suspect’s residence the suspect tried to hide a white plastic under the table when he saw him. It was too late, he was arrested and charged at Ixopo SAPS,” said Hlaki.
The bag contained 550 capsules. The suspect appeared in the Ixopo Magistrate Court and was granted bail with the case being postponed to 17 April 2026.
