Members of the South African Police Service hosted a community dialogue at the Ward 7 Community Hall in Shayamoya on Friday, 23 October 2026.
The various speakers from the SAPS, Department of Community Safety and Liaison, Social Development, Liquor Borad, Disaster Management, SASSA, Department of Education, Disaster Management and DCS discussed topics including the current crime situation and progress on concerns in Kokstad as well as alcohol and substance abuse, domestic violence, lack of safeguarding children, child neglect, witchcraft and illegal immigrants. Guests at the dialogue were given the opportunity to engage with the SAPS members on the various topics and offer input and discussions.
