The Mt Currie Cottage Crafters recently selected CHOC (Childhood Cancer Foundation SA) as a beneficiary of knitted and crocheted items produced by the group of generous ladies.
Five boxes of knitted/crocheted blankets, toys, socks and beanies were collected over the last few months and delivered to the CHOC home in Pietermaritzburg.
CHOC Childhood Cancer Foundation SA is non-profit organisation that advocates for the health and well-being of children and teenagers diagnosed with cancer or life-threatening blood disorders and their families. The CHOC homes also house patients and their families during treatments and provide the patients with Carebags upon diagnosis. These Carebags contain essential items and small comforts to offer dignity, relief and reassurance in those first overwhelming moments. The items donated by the Mt Curie Cottage Crafters will be added to these Carebags.
A big thank you to all the ladies who helped complete the donation items and to everyone who supports the Mt Currie Cottage Crafters and the CHOC foundation.
