On Saturday, KwaZulu-Natal Premier, AT Ntuli, accompanied by his Cabinet, led the Provincial commemoration of Human Rights Day in Kokstad.
Human Rights Month 2026 is commemorated under the theme: “A Legacy of Courage: Protecting Rights, Preserving Humanity”. The Premier was accompanied by MECs Nomagugu Simelane, M Khawula, K Zondi, F Rodgers and C Shinga. The commemoration also brought together District Mayor Cllr ZD Nxumalo, Deputy Mayor of Greater Kokstad Cllr K Walker, Speaker Cllr B Nozaza, Members of Parliament, deputy mayors, speakers from various municipalities, councillors and distinguished guests.
During his address, the Greater Kokstad Mayor emphasised that human rights are rooted in dignity and a reminder that every person matters, every life has value, and no one should live in fear, neglect or injustice.
