Police in Tlokoeng (Mount Fletcher) are investigating the murder of two women and the attempted murder of a teenage boy after an attack in their home at Katlehong locality.
According to police spokesperson, Captain Ursula Roelofse, the incident took place on Saturday, 14 February.
“At about 23:40 the SAPS was informed of a shooting incident at Katlehong locality. Upon their arrival they discovered several cartridges and projectiles in the house,” said Roelofse.
During the search, police found the body of the 40-year-old daughter, lying behind the door in the bedroom in a pool of blood with bullet wounds to the upper body. The mother of the victim, 58, was transported to hospital in a private vehicle with a bullet wound to her back. She unfortunately died on the way to hospital.
“The surviving 16-year-old grandson was hospitalized at a nearby hospital after he had a serious bullet wound on the left hand. The motive on the incident is unclear at this stage but the SAPS is following up on all possible leads,” said Roeleofse.

SAPS Joe Gqabi District Commissioner, Major Generali Lindelwa Vellem has condemned the brutal murder on this family and has instructed the Investigation team to thoroughly investigate the case and ensure that perpetrators are brought to justice.
