Friday marked a powerful milestone for digital education in KwaZuluNatal as MEC Francois Rodgers officially handed over the final sets of desktop computers to Mount Currie High School in Kokstad, within the Sisonke District.
The initiative forms part of the KwaZulu-Natal Provincial Treasury’s commitment to supporting digital access and improving learning outcomes, particularly in schools serving under-resourced communities. The handover concluded a series of impactful donations already made to schools in the Ilembe and Umgungundlovu districts, all under the Provincial Treasury’s Digital Access Programme – a clear commitment to expanding learning opportunities through technology.
Speaking during the handover, MEC Rodgers expressed heartfelt appreciation to learners, educators, school governing bodies and public representatives, acknowledging their resilience and dedication to learning despite limited resources.
He further recognised the vital role of small business owners who partner with government, proving that collaboration remains key to building schools that work for our children and our future.
