The body of an African male was found and retrieved from the Bosman quarry dam just outside Kokstad over the weekend.The body was retrieved by MC4 Security, working as local members of Port Shepstone Search and Rescue.
According to a source, local authorities were informed about the body late on Saturday afternoon and after confirming that the information was correct, the scene was secured for retrieval by SAPS search and rescue members on the following day.
Search and Rescue managed to retrieve the body on Sunday morning with the use of police divers and a small boat. It is estimated that the deceased was middle-aged, male and African. The victim wore black shoes, dark long trousers, and a dark long sleeve top with brown embellishments.
Circumstances around the incident remain unclear however investigations are ongoing. At the time of going to press, no formal statement had been received by police regarding the incident however it is believed that the victim has not yet been identified. Anyone with information about the deceased or the incident are urged to contact the police.
