The 37-year-old Babalwa Ndumndum was charged for allegedly assaulting her ex-husband along with his girlfriend and killing their day old infant in 2024.
This according to police spokesperson Sergeant Mosa Hlaki who said that the woman was recently sentenced for the crime.
“The accused heard that her ex-husband had fathered a child. She went to the mother of the child, held the one-day old infant by the leg, threw the child on the wall, assaulted the mother and ex-husband,” said Hlaki.
She was later arrested and made a number of court appearances for the charges of murder, assault GBH and common assault. Ndumndum was sentenced to 20 years imprisonment for murder, 5 years imprisonment for assault GBH and 12 months imprisonment for common assault.
