Umzimvubu Municipal Law Enforcement officials on 8 May 2026, intercepted two quantum vehicles towing heavily loaded trailers as they entered KwaBhaca, after alleged suspicious activity was identified.
The vehicles were then escorted to the vehicle testing station, where officials found 20 undocumented foreign nationals (from different countries).
“Immigration officials were immediately contacted, and the individuals were thereafter escorted to the KwaBhaca Police Station for further processing by the Police and for inspection of the goods found in the trailers. The Municipality, through its Public Safety – Law Enforcement and working jointly with other Law Enforcement agencies such as the Provincial Inspectorate Traffic in EmaXesibeni and the SAPS, remains committed to prioritising the safety and security of our residents through coordinated operations and law enforcement interventions in our area. A job well done to all involved, in ensuring that people abide by the laws of this country,” said the Umzimvubu Municipality in a statement.
