On Thursday, 12th February 2026, the Agricultural Sciences learners participated in their first task. They planted trees on the school’s premises. Trees play a vital role in agriculture and the environment. They provide shade, timber, fruits, fuel, wood and help in soil conservation, windbreaks and climate regulation. This exercise was carried out to equip learners with practical skills in tree planting and management. Learners learnt a great deal and had fun doing so at the same time. ST MONICA’S PRE/JUNIOR PRIMARY NEWSPAPER REPORT
On Friday the 13th February 2026 the Pre/Junior Primary learners celebrated Valentine’s Day at St Monica’s Diocesan School. Learners were dressed beautifully in their red and white attire. The learners were also able to participate in a variety of activities on the day. Great fun was had by both teachers and learners alike. – Makhathini

On the 13th of February 2026, St Monica’s learners were able to participate in a variety of activities including heartfelt card and gift exchanges and the Mr and Mrs Valentine competition as well as the soccer competition for primary and high school learners, learners also participated in water games and watching movies. Valentines’ day is a wonderful opportunity for students to express gratitude and build positive relationships. The event was a resounding success leaving everyone with warm memories and a stronger sense of community spirit. Learners are already looking forward to next years’ festivities, eager to continue the tradition of spreading love and joy at school. – C. Hulley
