Zithembile Matshakeni (62) lost most of his possessions on the night of 3 March 2026 when a mob forced him out of the room where he was living in Shayamoya. The mob believed that the owner of the property was connected to the case of the missing 7-year-old Marikana child, Lathitha Mtolo. The home was set alight and with that almost everything Zithembile owned reduced to ash.
Zithembile is disabled due to childhood polio and found himself homeless with only the clothes he was wearing and a few essential items he managed to grab before the home was set alight. A neighbour has since taken him however he now needs to contribute financially in terms of rent. Zithembile is in desperate need of assistance and anyone willing to assist financially or with the donation of food, clothes and/or blankets can please contact him on 0765818178.
