Kokstad Average Taxpayer Earning R21 841 – SARS

The 2025 South African Revenue Service (SARS) Tax Statistics has revealed that the average taxpayer in Kokstad earns R262 096-00 per year, which is about R21 842 per month.
The latest released tax statistics indicate that Greater Kokstad has a total of 8417 taxpayers with. Greater Kokstad has an estimated population of 81,676, according to the 2022 Census data.
According to the statistics, the biggest earning taxpaying municipality in KZN is KwaDukuza Local Municipality with an annual average of R374 350, about R31 196 per month for the 32 292 taxpayers.
According to the SARS statistics, Ntabankulu tops the Eastern Cape in terms of the highest average taxable income, with an annual average of R494 156, a monthly average of R41 180 for the 2631 registered taxpayers. According to the 2022 Census data, Ntabankulu Local Municipality has a population of 146 423. This is more than some major economic hubs such as Cape Town and Johannesburg, despite the town’s rural setting and smaller in comparison population.
The statistics indicate that the Matatiele Local Municipality has an annual average of R269 839, a monthly average of R22 487 for 8557 taxpayers.
SARS’ latest figures once again highlights that a small group of taxpayers contribute a significant share of the country’s income tax revenue.
