Sport vs BVC
On 9 March, our senior primary sports teams enjoyed an afternoon of fixtures against our neighbours from BVC. In netball, our U11 team produced a confident performance to win 10–3, showing good teamwork and solid defensive play. Our U13 side also had a strong outing, claiming a 15–3 victory through accurate shooting and well-controlled movement across the court.
On the hockey field, our U11 team played with great energy and attacking intent to secure a 9–1 win. Our U13 match proved to be a much tighter contest and ended in a 0–0 draw, with both teams defending well. In rugby, our U11 and U13 teams combined strong running with disciplined defence to secure a well-earned victories.
The following day it was the turn of our high school teams to take on BVC. In netball, the U16 match was closely contested, with our team showing great composure to narrowly win 10–9. Our 1st team delivered a polished performance, working well together to claim a decisive victory. On the hockey field, our U16 side played with confidence and structure to win 8–0, while our 1st team followed up with a solid 7–0 result after a well-organised display.
In rugby, our U16 team produced a strong performance to defeat BVC 56–0, demonstrating good attacking play and disciplined defence. A particularly encouraging result came from our 2nd team, who took on BVC’s 1st team and played with great determination to secure a 24–7 victory.
Mini Cricket vs Rivermead
On 12 March, our young mini cricketers hosted Rivermead for an enjoyable afternoon of cricket. Our U7 team batted well to score 56/1 (56), while Rivermead finished on 33/3 (11). It was another fun and encouraging outing for our youngest players as they continue to develop their skills and love for the game.
The U8 match was closely contested, with KEHS scoring 47/6 (7.8) and Rivermead replying with 30/4 (7.5). Our U9 team also had a strong showing, finishing on 69/0 (69), while Rivermead managed 25/4 (6.5). It was pleasing to see the enthusiasm and teamwork on display across all the age groups.
SPC Pre-season Sports Festival
On Saturday, our high school teams travelled to SPC to participate in their pre-season Sports Festival, which provided valuable match experience against a variety of schools.
Our U16 netball team had a competitive run of matches, defeating Focused 14–0, narrowly losing to Shayamoya 9–10, and then recording convincing wins against Suid Natal (24–0) and Thembalethu (9–6). Our 1st netball team beat Suid Natal 19–3 and SMDS 12–5, but lost to Shayamoya 11–21. They progressed to the semi-finals, defeating SPC 12–2, before facing Shayamoya again in the final, where they finished as runners-up after an 8–23 loss.
In hockey, our U16 side recorded wins against Thembalethu (2–0), BVC (1–0) and SPC 2nd team (5–0), before narrowly losing 0–1 to South City. They progressed to the semi-finals, where they lost to KC. Our 1st hockey team drew 0–0 with SMDS, lost 1–2 to SPC, and recorded wins against BVC (2–0), Suid Natal (5–0) and South City (2–1). It was a good day of hockey and the girls played with great commitment and teamwork.
In rugby, our U14 team produced a strong display to defeat SPC 52–5. Our U16 side followed up with an impressive 83–7 win against SMDS. Our 1st team concluded the festival with a commanding performance against Thembalethu, highlighting the positive progress being made as the season approaches.
