Junior Phase Sport
Our junior hockey teams enjoyed an afternoon of sport against Focused on 19 May. Our U7B side won 3–1, our U8B team narrowly lost 1–0 and our U9B team delivered an outstanding 11–0 victory.
The following day, our youngest rugby players took on Bergview College in a series of sporting fixtures. Our U6 7-man tag rugby team enjoyed the match and secured a 5–2 win. Our U7C tag rugby team fought bravely but lost 25–10, while our U8 team bounced back with an excellent 15–5 victory. Our U9B team faced a strong BVC side and, despite their best efforts, lost the match.
There were also some excellent performances from our hockey and netball teams. Our U7 hockey team beat Bergview 1–0 in a closely contested match, while our U8 side claimed a 6–3 victory. Our U9 team gave everything but narrowly lost 4–3.
On the netball court, our U8 team secured a 2–0 win over BVC, and our U9 team followed with another excellent 1–0 victory.
High School Sport
Our senior boys’ hockey teams travelled to Southcity Christian College on 19 May for two competitive encounters. Our 1st team played out a tense 0–0 draw, with both sides defending strongly and refusing to give an inch. Our U16 team fought hard in a close contest but were narrowly defeated 2–1.
On 20 May, our 2nd rugby team delivered a commanding display against Bergview College, securing an impressive 26–0 victory.
On 23 May, our netball, rugby and hockey teams travelled to Southcity Christian College. Our netball teams were particularly impressive, with our 1st team producing an excellent attacking display to win 29–16. Our U16 team was equally dominant with a convincing 15–4 victory through excellent passing and sharp shooting.
In hockey, our U16 team faced both the SCC U16 and SCC 2nd teams, earning hard-fought goalless draws in both tightly contested matches. Our 1st hockey side secured a 1–1 draw in another exciting encounter.
Our rugby teams rounded off the week brilliantly. Our U14 side kept a clean sheet in a solid 14–0 victory, while our U16’s entertained spectators with an exciting 28–17 win. Our 1st rugby team then capped off the afternoon with a determined 10–3 victory, displaying discipline and excellent teamwork.
