The Centre for Rehabilitation of Wildlife (CROW) is calling on YOU to step forward and become Guardians, as it continues its vital work in rescuing and rehabilitating injured and orphaned wild animals across KwaZulu-Natal.
Each year, CROW responds to between 3000 and 4000 wildlife emergencies, providing lifesaving care to animals impacted by growing human-wildlife conflict. From birds and monkeys to genets, duiker, and mongoose, the need for intervention is constant and urgent.
“At CROW, no animal is turned away,” says Clint Halkett-Siddall, CROW’s Operations Director. “Every life matters, and every rescue counts. Our mission is to rescue, rehabilitate and ultimately release wildlife back into their natural habitats, giving each animal a second chance at life.”
However, this critical work cannot continue without public support. CROW is encouraging individuals to join its Guardian Programme, a community of passionate supporters dedicated to protecting South Africa’s wildlife. Contributions from as little as R50 per month help cover essential costs, including food and medical treatment for animals in recovery.
As an added incentive, new Guardians who sign up will be entered into a lucky draw to win an exciting getaway; a two-night stay at Umhlanga Sands and/or a meal voucher for Mozambique Restaurant at Galleria Mall. Existing Guardians will also be included in the draw.
