The Alfred Nzo District Municipality firefighting division held an international firefighter day at EmaXesibeni on 7 May 2026.
The firefighter convoy departed from the Alfred Nzo offices main gate with municipal leadership featuring emergency vehicles and marching squads through the town to their base. Newly appointed platoon commanders were given their ranks by the Executive mayor and political leadership. The ceremony was opened by Chaplain Rev Mthwesi. Keynote address was given by the Executive Mayor and fire equipment simulation was done by the fire crews.
